Open Meeting, Tuesday 19th January, 7.30pm, QBar

This Tuesday (19th January), at 7.30pm, we will be holding a JCR Open Meeting in the Bar.

The main aims of the meeting are to discuss:
1. The events which happened last term
2. The scope and motivation of the current ents restrictions
3. What response we as a JCR should be making.

As part of this, we have invited the Senior Tutor and Dean of College to answer questions from the JCR. To ensure that the broadest range of concerns are answered, we will be picking a selection of people to ask the first few questions from those that are submitted to us beforehand. Towards, the end, time permitting, we will then try and open up questions to the floor.

If you would like to submit a question for the meeting, please email queens.meeting@gmail.com with 'question' as the subject.

We would also like to discuss possible options for what we as a JCR should do while the restrictions are still in place. This includes:
1. Steps we could take to try and get the restrictions lifted,
2. How we can alter plans for the events subject to the restrictions
3. Any further actions we could take.

If you would like to submit such a suggestion, please email queens.meeting@gmail.com with 'suggestion' as the subject.

In the interest of keeping the meeting to a reasonable time, we may have to limit the number of items discussed on Tuesday. If there is sufficient demand, we will endeavour to organise other open meetings this term. If there are anything suggestions you would specifically like to raise as a motion for the JCR, please remember to include both a proposer and seconder in your email and also 'include 'motion' in the subject.

This meeting is a great chance to get our views heard by senior members college and to challenge the decisions that have been made on logical and ethical grounds. As such, please remember that excessive heckling or immature behaviour could seriously undermine our efforts to be taken seriously on the matter.

Ali Dykes, our welfare officer has also managed to organise a Chlamydia screening event with our local outreach officer, which will be on in the bar at the same time.

Hope to see you all there,

Emil
