MagSoc (the St Margaret's Society of Queens') will be celebrating its 125th anniversary on Thursday 11th March at West Road Concert Hall at 8pm.
You are reminded that college regulations do not permit bicycles in bedrooms (or residential buildings in general), whether for storage or maintenance.
The nominations have been counted. After one of the most close-run hustings for some time, we are pleased to announce the JCR Committee members for 2010-2011:
Here are the list of nominees with their contact details, also their various manifestos are attached. Don't forget voting will be today and tomorrow in the bar 12-2 and in buttery 6.15-7.15.
The candidates for JCR President 2010-2011 are Charlie Bell, Chris Hansford and Hannah Miller.
"College Information and Regulations 2009/10" page 19 says:
"The use of cooking equipment of any nature is prohibited in residential rooms".
This applies to all college-supplied accommodation, whether main site, Owlstone, or college houses/flats. We are serious about this regulation, and the need for such a regulation should be so obvious as not to need rehearsal. However, it is apparent that some residents have nevertheless been cooking in their bedrooms or living rooms.
Breach of this rule is so serious that I have authorised college housekeeping staff to confiscate cooking equipment which has been used in residential rooms in breach of this regulation. The confiscated equipment will be held securely and returned to its owner when they leave college accommodation, or on some earlier date if housekeeping are satisfied that the equipment will in future not be used in forbidden areas.
On Saturday 20th February, due to the MA Graduands Luncheon, brunch will not be served. There will be Breakfast from 8.15am to 9.15am and bar food available later.
A limited number of queue jump tickets for next Saturday's bop....***GOLD*** A night of 80s dance classics...
