Medical Society

Queens’ MedSoc is for the Medical and Veterinary students at Queens’, and aims to provide its Members with a range of benefits, both academic and recreational. Each term we organise Speaker Meetings, where influential doctors and vets from outside the university talk to us about the work that they do – this can range from working in research, to working for aid organisations, or even working in military medicine and veterinary medicine. The Society is well known for its second-to-none social events – the year begins with our curry night, and we also organise Pub Crawls and group takeaways throughout the year. The post-exams Garden Party allows for some well-deserved relaxation under the soothing influence of Pimms and sunshine, although the highlight of the year is undoubtedly the Annual Dinner, which takes place in the luxurious surroundings of Old Hall. This is where you will be introduced to the Society’s most ancient and well-guarded secret….

Founded in 1926 the Medical Society has a long history of ensuring your time as a medic or vet at Queens’ is that little bit more special – we look forward to welcoming you into the fold!
