Contemporary Dance

Head: Janet French

Queens’ College Contemporary Dance Society is an excellent way to explore dance without even having to leave college!

Queens' are very lucky to have professional dancer in residence Adele Thompson who teaches the society’s classes. Adele studied at Cambridge University and London Contemporary Dance School and works as an independent dancer, choreographer, stilt artist and teacher.
'Brilliant, just brilliant. This teacher is the greatest. We need some more of this.' The Independent

Contemporary dance technique classes are held every Friday during term time in the Fitzpatrick Hall:
Beginners - 2:30-4pm
Intermediate - 4:30-6pm

On Saturdays there is a creative choreography class:
Open class - 10am-12:30pm

There is no membership fee and classes are free for members of Queens' College.

The society hold an annual performance 'Sprung!' at the end of Lent term offering the opportunity for students to bring their own choreography to a friendly audience. The performance is always very successful and well received.

There is also the opportunity to get involved in the committee who help with the general running of the society and organise 'Sprung!'. This is a great experience and offers the chance to develop new and existing creative and administrative skills.
